Nepal’s Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) requires all mobile devices to be registered for legal use on Nepali networks. This guide walks you through the online registration process.

- IMEI number(s) - Dial

- Email & Phone - For OTP and notifications
- Payment method - For applicable fees
Step-by-Step Registration
1. Visit MDMS Portal
Go to: https://mdms.nta.gov.np
2. Click “Register Device”
3. Enter Device Details
- IMEI 1 (primary)
- IMEI 2 (if dual SIM)
- Brand (Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, etc.)
- Model (iPhone 13, Galaxy S22, etc.)
4. Enter Owner Details
- Full Name (as per citizenship/passport)
- Citizenship Number or Passport Number
- Email Address
- Mobile Number (for OTP)
5. Verify OTP
Enter OTP sent to your email/mobile.
6. Pay Fee (If Applicable)

7. Submit & Save Acknowledgement
Download/print the registration certificate.

Visit: https://mdms.nta.gov.np/status → Enter IMEI
Important Notes
- Deadline: Register within 30 days of bringing device to Nepal
- Unregistered devices: Blocked from Nepali networks (Ncell, Ntc, Smart)
- Tourists: Temporary registration available (90 days)
- Second-hand devices: Re-register in new owner’s name
Common Issues
